Suboxone Information

If you are not aware of what Suboxone is or what it does, you are in the right place. Suboxone is a medication that comes in the form of a tablet or sublingual film, which is dissolved in the mouth. The purpose of Suboxone is to curb cravings for opioids and to alleviate opioid withdrawal symptoms. Very few people can successfully make it through opioid withdrawal without help, so Suboxone is a great way to get off of opioids. Suboxone should never be a permanent or long-term solution, but it is a good way to start the recovery journey. I used Suboxone for about six months, and as I mentioned in a previous blog post titled "My Story (Short Version)," I thought that I wasn't a drug addict anymore because of how well it got rid of my cravings! If you or someone you know is struggling with opioid addiction, the number one thing to do would be to check yourself or your loved one into a detox program. I recommend detox over Suboxone due to getting a clean break completely off of substances, but detox can get very pricey and isn't an affordable option for everyone. Suboxone is the next best option for opioid addiction recovery, but keep in mind that you will need to stop taking Suboxone eventually and face withdrawal from it, though in my experience, I have found Suboxone withdrawal to be much tamer than street-opioid withdrawal. Once you have completed detox or have stopped taking Suboxone, then the real work can start.
